  • UCGS students given conditional offers at the University of Oxford

Three Upton Court Grammar School students were given conditional offers at the University of Oxford for September 2014. Having gained the highest grades at GCSE and AS level in 2012 and 2013, they submitted their applications in late 2013. They were subsequently invited to attend a rigorous interview and selection day and beat competition from high calibre applicants from around the world.

Emma Flint, who served as Head Girl at Upton Court in 2012/13 was offered a place at Wadham College, Oxford, to read Medicine. She currently is studying A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics and is on target to receive A* grades this summer.

Victoria Morris wishes to read History and Politics, and was offered a place at Jesus College, Oxford. She currently studies A levels in Spanish, Geography, History and Politics and is predicted to get straight A grades.

Tamir Morgan was also offered a place at Jesus College, Oxford and wishes to read Classics. He is currently studying A levels in Classical Civilisation, Mathematics and English Literature and is on target to gain A grades in all three subjects.

Upton Court Grammar Principal Mercedes Hernandez Estrada said “We pride ourselves in supporting students to achieve their goals.  Oxford know a good thing when they see it. In Emma, Victoria and Tamir they find outstanding academic achievements alongside their charity, volunteering and extended learning experiences. They will be an asset to any university and we are very proud of them.”
