Your role at Slough Grammar
Whether you’re the parent of a Year 7 to 11 pupil or a sixth form student, you will find useful information in this section about the relationship we need to create between you and us. You’ll find that home school partnership is an important part of our approach to educating your child. We strive to give children a good and rounded education. Obviously, we put major emphasis on academic achievement, as that - and the examination results it brings - is critical in preparing your child for their future career. But, we also put strong emphasis on personal development. We aim to help every child in school reach their personal potential so that they face the world beyond school as confident, thoughtful and considerate citizens. This balance of academic and personal growth is what we consider to be a good education and that is what we aim to give to your child.
Of course, we cannot do that alone. We need your child to engage with the school and to work hard during their time with us. And we need you to help encourage and develop their ability to do that. At times you may need our support and we may need yours, in reaching our ultimate goal of preparing your child to take their place in the world - we think that’s a good goal to share and hope that you will join with us in working towards it.
