| Applying to Slough
Students already at the school will be given information about the Sixth Form during Year 11. Students from other schools are invited to contact us after Christmas, when they will be sent a Prospectus and application form.
Having submitted an application form prospective students will be invited to an interview at the school. If the interview is successful a provisional place will be offered pending satisfactory GCSE results.
Minimum entry requirements would include...
For A-level courses:
6 GCSEs, at least 4 at grade B or above, plus 2 at grade C or above, with B in subject chosen at A-Levels.
For Applied A Level courses:
5 GCSEs, at grade A - C or distinction/merit at intermediate level.
For International Baccalureate Diploma:
At least 6 GCSEs at grade B or above.
For a student combining AS Levels and Applied A Levels:
5 GCSEs, 2 at grade B and 3 at grade C. A student taking Single and Double Award Applied will need 5 GCSEs at grade C or above.
For BTEC Intermediate courses:
4 GCSEs, at grade D/E or above.
While the above requirements are
typical for many A-level courses, specific GCSE grades
may be required in the subject to be studied and/or
related subjects. Such requirements will be detailed in our new
Sixth Form Prospectus. Prospective students are advised
to submit Application Forms by 31st March 2010 as
competition for places is intense.
