GNVQ Business Intermediate
What this course offers Whether a student is preparing for further education or employment, this course will provide a valuable insight to how business works. The course offers very similar benefits to the Applied A Level Business course, but looks at the subject in a broader, slightly more general sense. Whether a student aims to work in a large organisation, a small business or to run a business of their own, they will benefit from what they learn. The course covers setting up a business, personal finance, organisations and how they work, ownership and the part that individuals play in organisations. A student moving directly into employment will understand how the business they are entering works. That knowledge will allow them to function well within an organisation and to see potential opportunities for career development. Their understanding of business will be an advantage to them and their future employer, helping to make them a valuable member of staff. A student completing this course and going into further education will have a foundation of knowledge to build upon. This will greatly enhance their learning potential as their studies progress. Enrichment activities Students studying GNVQ Business Intermediate will be able to participate in our Young Enterprise scheme, the Shares for Schools programme, work experience placements, and a cabinet Seminar. All of these activities have a clear and strong focus on business related matters and help to add context and value to what is learnt on the course. These practical activities will provide a productive addition to CVs and application forms. Beyond the sixth form Vocational courses can be useful to students seeking a university or further education placement. However, as vocational courses lean more toward the world of work, they are often selected by those interested in seeking employment after the sixth form. This course would be of practical value to those seeking further education or employment in areas such as economics, business, marketing, law, human resources, information systems, politics and accountancy. |
